What we supply
- Flat cleaning brushes (card flat brushes) matched to card model
- Comber brushes for common comber platforms
- Doffer cleaning brushes
- Phillipson brushes
- Rotary-brush based card flat cleaning systems (tops cleaning system)
Application area
Carding and combing sections in short-staple spinning. Brush specification is machine-model dependent: bristle material, tuft density, overall dimensions and mounting must match the machine and the cleaning duty. Brushes for high-production cards see different loading than older platforms, so a generic brush of similar size is not an equivalent.
What Vaamana checks before supply
- Bristle material and stiffness against the cleaning duty
- Tuft density and pattern — coverage without excessive penetration
- Overall dimensions and mounting against the machine model
- Bristle anchorage (pull-out resistance) — loose bristles contaminate sliver
- Balance and runout for rotating brushes
Information required from the mill
- Machine make and model (card or comber)
- Brush position: flat cleaning, doffer cleaning, comber, Phillipson
- Working width / brush length required
- Sample or photo if the current brush is non-standard
- Observed issue, if any: loading, bristle shedding, streaks
Common failure symptoms
Mills usually reach this page while investigating one of the following. If any of these match, mention it in your enquiry — it changes what we check first.
- Flat tops returning to work still partially loaded
- Bristle fragments appearing in sliver or waste
- Visible streaks or lines in web tied to brush width positions
- Comber noil percentage drifting with no raw-material change
- Brush shaft vibration or uneven bristle wear pattern
Frequently asked questions
How often should a flat cleaning brush be replaced?
By condition, not calendar. Once bristle tips round off or density drops, flats return to work loaded and carding quality drifts. Inspect the brush whenever flats are inspected, and replace when cleaning effect visibly falls rather than waiting for mechanical failure.
Do you supply brushes for older card models?
Yes — provided the model and brush position are identified, or a sample is shared. Older platforms often run modified brushes, so we confirm dimensions and bristle specification before supply instead of assuming OEM condition.
